Yesterday at WSNCC, our seniors turned a Bingo fundraiser into something really special. Organized by our Bursary Committee and Seniors Department, every dollar raised goes toward keeping the Nadine Pendleton Educational Bursary Fund alive for West Scarborough students. 🎱 There’s something really powerful about watching our seniors invest in the futures of the young people in this community. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and worked hard to make the day a success. WSNCC operates on land that is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. We also acknowledge all Treaty peoples – including those who came here as settlers – as migrants either in this generation or in generations past and those who came here involuntarily, particularly as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
