We handed out more than 1,000 hot dogs on Saturday thanks to @maplelodgefarms and their Zabiha Halal brand! 🌭💚 They helped us feed the whole community and West Scarborough definitely came with an appetite. We’re so grateful for partners who make days like this possible! #wsncc #bgcws #scarboroughcommunity #maplelodgefarms #zabihahalal #communitysupport #fallfairButton

A big thank you to @alittle_something_something for being part of our Fall Fair this weekend 🧡 Shanell and her family have been part of our BGC programs for years, so it meant a lot to see her as a vendor on Saturday leading Medicine Bag and Beading Workshops. You could truly see the passion and love she puts into her craft! If you haven’t already, give @alittle_something_something a follow and support a local Afro-Indigenous Artist in the West Scarborough community! ✨ #westscarborough #indigenousartists #medicinebags #wsncc #fallfair #supportlocal #community #bgcwsButton

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, the children who never made it home, and their families. We acknowledge the resilience and the strength of Indigenous communities and encourage you to reflect on this shared history, to learn, and to listen, so that we may have a more inclusive and equitable future for all. At WSNCC and BGC West Scarborough, our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is shared across our entire organization. Our youngest members and our oldest members all recognize the importance of learning, reflecting, and acting with intention. Through our BGC program, we have been selling orange shirts to mark this important day. 100% of these proceeds will be donated to the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto in support of their essential work. We also encourage you to follow and support Indigenous-led organizations in your own community. Listening, learning, and showing up is vital to reconciliation. 🧡 #everychildmatters #truthandreconciliation #ndtr #orangeshirtday #indigenousrights #mmiwg #wsncc #bgcwsButton
